A woman wondered if Dobie, her dog, was sick and wanted to die because for
weeks he seemed fatigued and depressed.
In a session on the phone with the woman, I got that Dobie was saying, yes, he was sick and tired, and that he was dying because death was looking like a more lively prospect to him than having to continue surviving the depression of his other guardian.
After listening to Dobie rant, my client then told her husband who dearly loved Dobie, what Dobie had told her: that he needs to snap out of his negative self-talk, lighten up, and find joy in living if he wants Dobie to live.
Happily for all involved, he did.
